4.2. Sections

Sections for internal and external artefacts are used to compose portfolio pages and group pages. There is a large number of sections available in Mahara. More can be used when plugins are installed.

Content of sections can be shown on a page immediately, or just the section’s heading can be displayed. The retractable sections allow you to be more flexible in what you want to show immediately on a page.

Note

If you choose not to give a section a title, you cannot retract that section as there would be no place to unretract it.

When you started editing information in a section and you navigate away from it accidentally without having saved your section, you are being asked whether you wish to stay on the page or leave the page.

This does not only apply to editing of sections, but also pages.
